Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle with Leupold VX-1

Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle, chambered in .223 Remington. It comes in all traditional wooden stock furniture and heatshield. This rifle has been fitted with a Leupold VX-1 Telescopic sight for long range target shooting.

Modelling Diary:
This rifle took me roughly 2 weeks to model and texture (15th May - 29th May). The wooden stock was straight forward to model, as all I had to do was model in line with the reference image, and insert additional edge loops to "shape" the stock into proportion. The most hardest part was without a doubt the receiver due to it's awkward shape. I had to resort to using triangles instead of quads to join some of the circular vertices such as the chamber and the bolt, so there are some weird smoothing errors around there if closely examined.
Texturing on the other hand took about 3 days, and all markings are custom made in Photoshop with reference to the real life counterpart.
